Realistically speaking, what's the best way to hustle and make some $$$ with your artwork?

I've had a bit of a rough time post the unfortunate decision to go to school for art, thinking I'd get at least some discernible boost in credibility, career assistance, possible connections. Before getting in too deep I was starting to get to the point where I could do festival/fairs and etsy. I honestly lost a lot of momentum in school, having to turn down or even refund commissions because my classwork and part time job took up too much of my time. By senior year, however I was teaching beginner painting classes and making almost twice minimum wage, but not enough to pay loans/maintain car/rent. After college did same job + driving for uber and wound up getting into a bad wreck and lost my car. Decided being on the road and teaching art in bars in a city with the worst murder rate in the country was not worth the risk anymore as I value my life.

So, I'm now looking into getting back into commissions and selling art/prints/etc. online and pickin up commissions, but now I'm pretty much starting from scratch and don't really have any kind of following. Is Etsy still a reasonable place to sell? Is Patreon worth it? I mostly work traditional and was thinking of starting a Youtube channel and doing tutorials. Should I try to make poster, buttons, patches, etc. ?

Would my art sell as prints? What else could I do with it, make for some side money. I'd like to be able to at least make half of what I'm making at my grocery job so I can stay home with my son. I doubt I'll make enough to repay my loans, but I don't really as is, so who knows. Maybe I'll get lucky. Any advice is much appreciated.
