I'm not sure if I should ask this, I'm not even sure I'll get a serious response but I've started with the basics about 5 days ago, I've been reading "Fun with a pencil" by Loomis and doing all the exercises and I just got into expressions and I genuinely feel like I'm wasting time, however I've been following a certain artist for about 3-4 years now, and she has a very nice yet very simple anime artstyle that I really want to be exactly alike, should I drop loomis and instead learn by observing and working through her art instead?

I'm scared I might get glaucoma and lose my sight. My drawing and paintings are all I got going for my sanity.
