Gave it a shot. If you really want to get better with cartoons - you really got to study the fundamentals and cartoons at the same time. It's not really a matter of "realism vs cartoons" as it is more of keeping knowledge that daily gesture drawing, anatomy practice, photo studies will go a long way and aid your style in ways you couldn't imagine. In this same way, you can break down those cartoon styles. Do construction studies of Butch Hartmann (Fairly Odd Parents), do quick gesture drawings of Steven Silver's cartoons to see the shapes and contours in his drawings. Also, take a break from digitally coloring everything in and making lineart so you can fully focus on just drawing in your sketchbook for now. You'll gain better mileage out of continually drawing lots of sketches rather than spending time on one big picture.

Cute boys by the way.
