Is anyone else kind of sick of artwork where the main goal is ostensibly to be for it to look as realistic as possible?

I'm not saying these don't take an absolutely insane amount of skill, but from an aesthetic standpoint I just find them vapid. The more they veer into photo-realism the less they offer anything resembling expression, I feel. Don't get me wrong, I don't care for hopelessly abstract, one-ink-splash-on-a-giant-white canvas stuff either, but I feel like this is the other extreme and it's kind of not good somehow.

IMO no artist working digital is the "best in the world". Too much cheating going on that level.
