Breaking up the line that represents where the upper and lower lips meet is incredibly common in all stylized work. It is both a matter of lineweight and to represent the softer edges near the middle of the lips as opposed to the corners of the mouth.

I find it funny how noobs like you can't even understand something as simple and basic as this.
