this has nothing to do with "intermediate artists" it has to do with intermediate skill in copying and DAB has nothing to do with copying or observational ability--at least the useful parts of it

also, i have found it is better for a beginner to learn how to copy before they learn perspective or how to draw a box in order to avoid frustration in the future, the way copying is downplayed for a typical artist is to his detriment as most artists copy in some way or another

here is the lesson plan i would typically recommend if you're an acttual absolute beginner
>line control and shapes (first lesson of DAB)
>observational ability (that infographic above)
>perspective (marshall vandruff and D'amelio)
>form (haven't found a good one yet)
