I find it about the journey and the struggle of life (and death) in a harsh world. Body language and path of direction as major factors.
In terms of composition:
- Leading line road path
- Contrast, light and shadow:
horse and sitting man vs sky
2 ladies' highlighted faces vs clothes
coffin vs blanket, dog vs snow
cloud shadow vs light colored ground
- there's also rule of thirds, but not really the main focus
I'm just a hobbyist photographer that stumbled in this board so take my opinion as a grain of salt.
