How much simplified should the character designs be in general to be drawn again and again with no issues while still being recognizable and providing variety?
I like the complexity of the armors in Saint Seiya but I realize Kurumada is able to draw them over and over thanks to his own shortcuts and technical flaws. On the other hand, Jujutsu Kaisen has very simplistic designs and characters that blend together due to how samey and bland their uniform is (I don't have anything against uniforms by themselves btw, FMA executes them very well because the core design is good), and while that makes for decent action scenes, it doesn't look very memorable on it's own.
How do you approach this specific aspect?
