I think some of these might be the result of me doing something wrong, if they are it would be great if someone could lead me into the right direction but I had a bad experience with these things

I bought a daler rowny large firm kneaded eraser, it was very firm. I've had it for a few months now and I've yet to be able to knead it out of it's original shape, you can still see the rectangular shape of it.

I bought another one, I think was Faber Castel, it's like goo, I can't even get it out of the packaging of pick it up let alone use it as an eraser.

I've found poundlands pack of 3 for a pound have been the best I've used so far.
