Nice start! This feels like it is very close to being awesome, you are just missing a few small things.

Basically I feel you are overusing soft airbrushes and it loses impact. Try to think about what will make this image be more striking. I tried a little paintover showing how I would treat it.

I started by making the background a flatter tone so it is a dark backdrop for a graphic image. I also avoided overexposing areas in the skin. Then I tried to get the figure to look more mythological and less like an old dude past his prime. I made his hair more intense, corrected some anatomy on the close arm, corrected the posture a bit so he isn't as hunched over, then added some tattoos and jewelry so he doesn't look as helplessly naked. I added a few sparks to the background so the volcano is more active, and added some glowing designs on the hilt of the sword so it reads better.
