Unironically, seek out art/entertainment that you know is 1) high quality and 2) does something on a technical level that you would like to achieve one day.
Personal example, I was in the mindset that I couldn’t be wasting time on movies or tv shows or video games period because I thought they got in the way of me creating art. Then, I watched some anime, and I thought, “holy shit, why do these characters make me happy? Why do I want them to be happy and to succeed?” And that turned into, “how can I write my own characters to be just as enrapturing to an audience?” I started sketching some fan art because I just love the characters that much, first drawings in a month. I started watching more videos of sakuga animation and that led me to try animating different scenes and poses.

Tl;Dr not all entertainment media is a waste of time, BUT, the media you consume needs to inspire you and correspond with your interests.
I played a lot of Yugioh for months, but that form of shitting around is literally the most useless way of spending my time ever since it doesn’t inspire me and doesn’t inform my art whatsoever. Watching Rising of the Shield Hero was great and forced me to figure out why the fuck I love Raphtalia so much and why I want Naofumi to be vindicated, and why after only being able to watch 4 episodes I was in a depressive spiral. Watching animation in general has had me draft up keyframes and sketches for the past 3 or 4 days now, because seeing other people succeed technically at that art makes me want to succeed too.
Touch base with why you wanted in on art to begin with, explore that media, and see if you can improve your technique or replicate something that someone else did that emotionally affected you.
