It's just a fun thing to argue about I guess.

Anon didn't say a single thing about portability, tho. Stowing it in your back seat in a backpack and taking it out for use isn't a problem.

Superior ergonomics aside, software limitations and longevity issues with iPads and the like also contribute to this being a great alternative option.

I wish I could tell you, this is more of a question you might pose to the Drawpile devs on their discord. According to my host the documentation isn't really user-friendly as of yet.

To be honest if you're a layperson like myself it might be more convenient to use Magma. I'm not a huge fan of it for various reasons but it's very hands off and has a free option.

I think as far as a complete software with general media editing ToonBoom is the way to go. However, for a free, utilitarian option, Krita is honestly pretty good-better than most. It's not perfect, but it's very simple and easy to use. It has some downsides but for a simple animation it's just fine. It has the best, most simple animation timeline of any software I've used.

I've been on this board on and off for a long time, and when I first found it I was already well into adulthood. I'm getting old, man.

I started the Tower Girls thread, I created anti-art school infographics, I've done a whole lot of autistic shit and have just been quietly entrenched in this community for as long as I can remember-but the fact is I never made it, myself, on my own terms or by my own standards.

I spent the past year and a half doing a lot of figure drawing, up until that point it was just anatomy studies and stuff like that, aimlessly for years on end. Starting, stopping and starting over-often from near 0-over and over again. This year I need to keep the progress and consistency going, I need to commit to hard perspective both for inorganic subjects and the figure, and finally work towards my true goal of animation. It was a very long time coming but I think I'm nearly ready. There's just so much to do and learn, but that's one of the things that makes art so appealing.
