All drawings are gesture drawings!

Unironically this. Get a feeling for rhythm and flow.

You're wayy too focused on outlines. Gesture is focused only on the action of the limbs, and really not their shape. Start with using simpler, open contours using fewer, bolder lines (not petting, single strokes).

Close the contours up once you're trying to show the solidness of the form, not to try and replicate the outlines of the reference.

Do your gestures look expressive if you have more time to draw them?

It looks like you're including a lot of unnecessary information, like the shapes of clothing or muscles. With 30 seconds you shouldn't be concerned with any of that, your main focus is on getting the movement down. Also the lines look very stiff and rushed. The timer forces you to simplify the gesture, not just to draw it quickly, feel free to go back to 1-2 minutes or turn the timer off completely while you figure it out.
