You realize Ruan Jia was a 3d monkey before moving to 2d right? SO, you need to learn 3d modelling, sculpting, retopo, UV, texturing, Posing, lighting, and compositing. Not only that, you need to learn shape design, perspective, construction, values, color, anatomy, animal anatomy, composition, character design shading and brushwork to become like Ruan Jia. You also need to put in at least 10 years of constant practice. Look at all the little asian boys who want to be like him. These are the guys whol will make it, not (you) OP.
