I'm very critical of the value of art degrees (I have a BFA), but the whole top left portion of this graphic is extremely misleading. It bugs me every time I see it.

The terms "arts" and "artists" are extremely vague in this infographic, and there are a lot of degrees that fall under this umbrella. This includes performing arts, art history, music, theater, film, etc. - things not applicable to the general interests of /ic/ but they are still being lumped into these figures. This gives a misleading impression that all art related degrees are equally useless, when some are in fact more useless than others.

For example, a lot of the people I've graduated with do actually have visual art related jobs (graphic design, illustration, etc.). The placement rate was way better than I expected. In contrast, some of my friends in the theater school told me that many alumni are struggling to find steady work.
