read Faragasso's book on it. there are no shortcuts. he will teach you how to draw the human figure first and as he does this he teaches you what the Reilly method is all about. you cant skip this part.
after that he will teach you how to draw heads. im at that point now.
this is what im doing right now.
like you my initial goal was to learn to draw heads but despite it i studied first how to draw the figure according to the Reilly method so that i can delve into the head with complete understanding.
i recommend you do the same. i have come far in only one month.
