The gender double standard will always exists and, no matter what you do, you will always be in the wrong side of the conflict. You will always be treated harshly while women are given the world and a bit more. You will always be disposable, while women are given inherent value. You will always have to prove your worth to be given the bare minimum, while women only have to prove themselves if they feel like it.

So what are you going to do, anon? I see a lot of men on this board choosing to live miserable lives and complain about the double standard as if that's going to change anything. Some "men" even believe the delusional idea that changing their sexes will give them the privileges of women, when in truth all it does is revoke the very little bones we are thrown as men.

I've chosen to fight, divert my anger into living a life where the good things soften the inherent misery of my gender, to the point I can only see the good things of the value I have gained on my own and I can live without needing to think about the misery. Women will forever have it better, but so do other men, and other women have it worse too, so what's the point of bitching?

If you are a sorry excuse of a "man", you will continue bitching and whining at things you will never be able to control in your life. But if you are a real man, you will stop bitching, you will man the fuck up and rise your head in triumph, for your will achieve a happiness while controling the course of your life, where no double standard will wear you down.

I went through severe dilemas about my art caused by me giving in to my inner demons and having fun writing a fanfic. I had no audience to write for, no peers to critique me, very few people cared. Anyone would've told me my endeavor was a total waste of time and so I believed it, but I was genuinely happy about it and looked forward for more, for once I was enjoying something.

Later down the line I realized it was exactly the lack of anyone caring what made writing the fic so enjoyable. Suddenly that idea got me thinking how I was unable to feel like this about drawing. I figured it's because nowadays, I draw out of compromise, because I have to, Im expected to. I should make the most of my drawing time grinding, farming numbers, drawing what people expect the way they expect it. Suddenly I was not having fun anymore and thought I was too far gone to make a change.

Then a conversation about joining communities and how being on your own has it's benefits got me thinking, I just have to mind my own business and not listening too intensively what other people says, let myself enjoy art and make art not because I have to, but because I want to.
Forget about the audience, forget about the peers, forget about what's hot, just draw what you want to draw no matter how retarded, or samey or uninteresting it is. Draw because you want to, not because you have to.

I come back from a long absence from this board and, with those ideas in mind, I see clearly now that this place as a whole is a complete trap, a prison of bitterness that will just sink me into thinking I not allowed to enjoy drawing and I must do it because I have to and in a specific way. Im lurking this place less as a result.

Sorry for the blogpost, I wanted to share those thoughts. I still havent drawn anything this year, but Im considering making a small trad painting of my blondie to enjoy drawing again. Also thanks to everyone that told me to enjoy my fics in peace last thread, that helped a lot.

Anon, I just want to tell you that I hope you're doing well over all of this nonsense around you and to please stay strong. It seems like you have some people scorning you because reasons, but the truth here is, even if you're not a stellar artist, or you're painfully slow, you are still participating, asking people for OCs and overall contributing to the thread as everyone should, whereas the people behind you are not, they are just spitting nonsense, not drawing OCs or posting their own, they are just further dragging drama that only shits up the thread, you are above these people simply because you're playing by the rules, dont let anyone take that away from you.
Please keep it up, continue to make deliveries and be part of the OC redraw thread, dont let the vendettafags wear you down and dont humor their nonsense.

That's a good idea, though I dont know how to properly put her flaws visually, it doesnt help her flaws are very intrapersonal: She is reckless, impulsive, short tempered and sensitive (a crybaby if you will). Maybe I wouldnt have this problem if I defined her flaws better...?

Do you, though? So far you seem to be doing good with your comic and I feel you could do better if made yourself more visible around your platforms, making promotional art, putting your characters in funny situations, that kind of stuff. I dont think you are required to reinvent the wheel in order to get where you want to go.

Didnt ask me, but you can certainly make a character that is engaging for how it is and for how it looks. The key is not leaning too heavily on the sex appeal and instead give people more stuff to see from your character, a compelling character design with virtues and flaws, motivation, lore, purpose and such.
