Looks pretty clean to me, the only real problem is the drawing's solidity in the animation (particularly the lower jaw/masseter area), and the perspective of the lower ribs

>spacing chart

I think a lot of people make it way more complicated than it needs to be and once you "get it" it's like "OH" (I wouldn't have probably ever understood it without AMB on youtube). I don't even think it's described as such in the Survival Kit but spacing is literally just halves (of space between keys or extremes) halved in half (or thirds halved in half) depending on the action.

Timing IS guessing, but it has to be informed guessing (I guess). Use a stopwatch on references, use a timer and practice tapping your feet every second to try and improve your internal rhythm.

>"so why not just do that"

I figured it out, it was this little fucker "Paste Mode: Keyframes Only" found at the top right of the timeline. Good thing it keeps you from dragging and dropping frames too, a mistake could have been made somewhere.

That doesn't solve the extremely annoying "feature" of ToonBoom creating automatic exposures under certain conditions that I'm having trouble getting to the root of, but at least I can use this shit now to a degree. I'm still butthurt I can't export .gifs with it, though.

Cute. Try experimenting with spacing that isn't so evenly divided, it looks like every position is halfway in-between the other. What I've been gleaning from these exercises I've been doing is that you'll probably get a more organic looking result if you start dividing halves into halves into halves and shit as appropriate to the timing. Give it a try with your next one
