Of course everyone knows that an object far away is smaller than an object in the foreground, you dont need to grind a perspective book for that. The thing is, there's more to it than that. How long exactly is that foreshortened arm gonna be? How much of an area do I see before things get distorted? I think it's a matter of talent to take the right guesses. But you cant guess every single line and how they interact to each other in every single scenario. Youve got to master perspective if you want to draw more complicated scenery. Dont grind those books if you think youre good enough. Sad thing is, you'll stay in your comfort zone forever, because you only draw what seems natural for you
