I think you have to beat that feeling because the other person will not think "oh he must be shy", the other person will think you are arrogant. Let's say you make it, you might have people that want to draw dropping messages how much they like your stuff every day, a million times more than just gay dad comments. If you occasionally respond with some wisdom it may mean the world to them and you have an ally for life.

I've sometimes responded to people on social media with as helpful yet succinct thoughts as I could manage, and they were ecstatic like they just won the lottery, I didn't even understand how something that little could mean so much to someone. But I gotta learn to put myself in their shoes to neutralize my fear
