Should I be focusing at all on completed projects? Right now I've just been doing iterative drawing. My notebook is either pages of heads or >>4959221 I'd rather not waste the time going through a completed project when all my individual parts look like shit. I did that last time I "got into drawing" and they all turned out like shit. What's the point in adding color and shade when the foundation looks like shit?

I suppose I should also be drawing more from reference. Past few days I've been trying to just draw from the brain, though it always turns out like shit. I don't want to be the guy that says "practice and reps make perfect!" only to be told "perfect practice makes perfect". Am I being too mindless? It's so hard to see what needs to be improved when I don't know it myself.
