He is one of thousands of photorealist artists all doing the exact same shit - doing nothing but using grids to mindlessly copy photographs of pop culture characters/celebs with a prismacolor pencil/marker rendering process that takes dozens of hours
Google [insert capeshit character] + prismacolor and you'll see what I mean. Also notice in how most of the timelapse videos on Youtube of these kind of copies being made, they almost never show you how they made the under drawing. A lot of them just trace the photo.
