I say you're getting there. The main difference I see from the right is better face construction. More conservative use of a palette and better way of describing shape by using hard edge on shadows while abusing highlights much less. That's my take on it and I'm sure better artists would be able to be much more on point, achieving the true anime look is very hard and a mighty goal.
