This thread reminds me a lot when Musicians debate the need for Music theory, knowing how to write and read. It is obviously an integral part of the art that'll do nothing but help, but you always get the lazy Musicians trying to argue how Theory kills creativity and that's excuse good enough not to bother with it (It's bullshit).
