So I like to worldbuild in my spare time, I made up a race for a setting I am writing and decided to draw some art of it to help put an image to my imagination. I tried to post it on /lit/ but posters there thought poorly of the art

My only experience with digital art is tracing Ben 10 OCs from when I was a teenager

I'm wondering what I can do to improve. Right now all I use is paint.net and I just take images of characters I think are cool and trace over them. The images here are all just made by tracing one side and flipping it over

I don't have a drawing tablet or anything like that, if that helps.
