/ic/ - Artwork/Critique

I can't for the life of me get how gesture drawings are supposed to work. I watched various videos on it by people like Proko and when I do it it just looks like meaningless scribbles instead of showing some form of action. Do you need to grind these for hours on end for this to change or is there some secret to it? Also how long are you supposed to spend on each gesture?

It's either super stiff photocopy or meaningless scribbles for me and this is by far not my first time trying to do these, although my last attempts have been quite a long time ago now.
