A few things:

- The left eye isn't supposed to be fully darker. The colored contacts take up most of the eye but if you look closely the very corner of the black eye is has the sclera poking through. So add just a small spot of white at the very left edge of the left eye.

- Your expression doesn't match the reference's expression because you didn't copy the face lines right. You did the "smile lines" but left out all the others. Specifically the lower lip is flat. This just gives the impression that the dude has a large upper lip area. Look closely at the reference. The lower lip/chin area is curved downward as well. Not by much, but it's not flat like in your drawing. Also the cheek line is slightly wrong. You have it just curving, but it's really comes down straight then curves inward towards the chin when it reaches the lower jaw bone. They way you have it makes his face look fuller than it should be. And fuller, rounder face is read as more friendly and childlike than the gaunt intensity that's really being put forward in the reference. Also the nose is scrunched slightly in the reference but smooth in your piece.

- The ear placement is off. You have it sticking out past the Mitre but look at the silhouette in your reference. Also a Mitre doesn't stick close to the head on the sides. It's basically two flat shapes of cloth that meet on the sides. so while the front and back will cling to the forehead and back of the head, the sides will stick out.

Hope this helps. I added some red notes to the drawing to hopefully point this out .
