eh I've found that it has a lot of benefits as a creative and motivational tool. By endlessly arguing about nonsense and/or art or whatever else it's always an opportunity to try rewriting your ideas or jokes or arguments against actively antagonistic text generators that will pretty much always just oppose and argue against whatever you say, lets you fine tune your rhetoric, challenge your ideas, work on writing out your concepts, etc.

And then in terms of motivational, I was definitely much more productive in terms of total output in spring and late winter of 2018 when I wasn't using any meme or social media than I was when I was posting here again in summer-present. But at the same time, there are a lot of benefits from constantly interacting with human gnats that are always willing to feed my masochistic spite impulse. I find a lot of benefit from interacting with a frustratingly dumb or angry person, and then painting about it for the next few hours after. Like the interference they create informs and motivates the decisions I make, sometimes out of spite, on the painting. Like as I ruminate on the conversation and the ideas from the conversation later, those ideas and themes become associated to me as I'm working, with specific things that I'm doing in the painting. So if I'm mulling over an idea or dialogue tree while doing a more fluid, blended approach, and then I start to get annoyed or bored with the argument or idea happening in my head, it's often reflected by a shift where I start doing things that actively sabotage the things I was doing as a way to change the subject. Just find benefit in having an argument or some kind of competing ideas going on in my head while I'm working. Makes it so that I'm less anxious about what I'm working on by giving all the annoying, distracting parts of my mind have something else to obsess about.

>you can't explain what entropy is, so you link five articles nobody is going to read.
I mean I can't control what other people do. If you want to actively refuse to understand this concept, that's your decision.
>My understanding of entropy is that everything stops if left alone for long enough. it stagnates.
yeah that has nothing to do with entropy. Sounds more like you're talking about inertia. Like if you read the intro to entropy wiki or the wiki about entropy's relationship with order and disorder you'd be less confused.
> it settles towards the least amount of movement or activity possible, like a clock that winds down. I might be wrong, but at least I can explain what I mean.
Being able to explain "what you mean" when you're not talking about the right thing doesn't really matter. Like entropy is all about like heat dispersal and irreversibility and stuff. Like ice melting is entropy. You can never unmelt an ice cube back to what it was. Like a glass of ice water left on a table to melt is an entropic system. The earth spinning and freezing and thawing and all of this is an entropic system. Time is entropy!
>still thinks there is anything before or after the present.
Yeah there's evidence of what happened. That's the whole point of art. It still exists after a person disperses energy at it. It's evidence that you existed that may exist long after you're gone.
>you paint memes. what the hell does this have to do with painting memes??
We create the rocks we push up the hill. Painting maymays is the Sisyphean purpose I've embraced giving meaning to.

>kek. I love how it all comes back to he's bad at painting
Better than you'll ever be most likely. Post your work gurl. And of course you "love" it you uppity slut. You're also stupid and uneducated so anything that can pivot back to "lol ur paintings are dum" is going to get you clapping like a toddler. Read a book bozo.

keep up.

What's that Ayn Rand story about like crippling the overachievers so that the underachievers can feel "equal?" Is that Anthem?

Like if you can't read. That's fine. I'm not sure why (you) need to constantly complain that I'm creating too much content. What a cuck. Act less like a tryhard middleschooler maybe mang idk.

>A creative output which can be used to hurt you
Yeah. Weirdly enough by belligerent goddamn "muh home-board" protectionist assholes that if they can't shoo people away by endlessly attacking their output, they start trying to dox and make threats against them and their family and fucking pets. It's fucking weird to have "home-board" retards threatening to shoot my cat in the lungs, or threatening to send screenshots of me saying naughty words to former employees and family, or desperately bringing up muh dead dog or any of the other pathetic shit that definitely-not-Brian have done at me over the past year+.
>in the most sensitive slice of the 4chan population.
Well there just is barely any "slice" of the 4chan population because buttblasted psychotic faggots make existential threats against people that have the audacity to post their reaction image art when they're interacting.
>Nobody is killing the server single-handedly,
Like right now the med student anon that's doing the "photobashing" gore art is already all agitated and harassed by totally-not-Brian and whoever else repeatedly posting essays about why that guy is just a "hobbyist" and they could totally do what he's doing if they wanted to.

And it's the same shit every time there's someone new. Whether or not it's one spastic autist or multiple, it ultimately has the same effect of shooing them away because there is no actual fucking critique or help, just desperate projection and shitposting from someone that thinks they're protecting their goddamn "home board" like a goddamn retarded 8 year old in a tree fort reeeing at grils.

Fun fact: I once got attempted mugged and ended up elbowing one of them in the mouth and his tooth caused a big ol puncture in my elbow. Within 24 hours I couldn't really bend my arm (without squirting a violent projectile of green schmutz out of it). The human mouth is fucking disgusting.

>comes from the dude spending days uploading his paintings to an anonymous crowd
tu quoque. That's another check in the political cultist column.
>being shit on and wondering why it leads nowhere.
When have I "wondered why it leads nowhere?" It's lead to some of my favorite of my paintings, which is why I built a schedule around soliciting abuse from dipshits like (you).

You don't wonder why you have this tendency to create strawman motivations for strangers in your head?
>Because you always say that when you're triggered.
Say what? Weren't you the fucking dingdong that said:
>I feel sorry for Jimmy here. He clearly has no or only very few friends. He shares his stuff on here and of course he gets shit for it. Because it actually, unironically sucks. No friend would be that harsh with him in real life. There are no friends here, Jimmy.
Pretty shitty thing to say to then suddenly start acting like a indignant cunt about how you think I'm being a meany.
>When confronted with it you deflect, but next time you get triggered it's the same thing.
I had a really satisfying conversation with an anon earlier, because unlike you they knew what the fuck they were talking about and they shared a lot of good suggestions for actual things to do to get better at painting. I don't have an issue with 4chan and I'm not blanket abusive, I'm being abusive to (you) because you're clearly not interested in betterment, you're only concerned with justification and persecution. That's cancer. kys.

> at least try to make this long "jokes" in threads that are not worthy, and let artist who actually want/need advice get what they are looking for
Yeah I mean I wish that MORE people would just be willing to argue and shitpost their work and make threads more lively generally. Part of the problem is that anons reee so much on this board about noise in the threads that the threads just end up being dead as fuck, and then everyone just weirdly expects there to be a picture, and then 5 perfect critiques right under it, and then another picture, or what the fuck ever. Follow dialogue chains and stuff.

Like I try to keep things relevant to the subject. I hate that we're having a meta conversation about why I do things. I LOVE talking and writing about "what makes art valuable" and stuff, and I'm building an entire project that kind of plays on that idea, but I can't fucking participate and talk with likeminded people about it without a bunch of assholes whining that I post muh art with muh ideas?

I just like subversion is all.

you have internet and a computer right? You don't have $40?

On Amazon you can get 12 11x14 canvas panels for $17. You can get 24 color acrylic paint set for $14. You can buy 50 different paint brushes for $10.

What was the last videogame you bought? How many hours have you spent playing vidya in the last month? What if you spent SOME of that money on practical art supplies? What if you spent SOME of that time trying new shit?

You're not poor. You just choose to be a fucking faggot.

>What's the longest break you took from art?
10 years
>What made you take a break?
College and working.
>And how long did it take to get back to your original skill level?
idk I came back and focused instead on producing acrylic paintings. When I stopped doing art stuff at 18 I was real into pastels and hand drawing. Now I'm more interested in painting and printmaking processes. I'll probably never get back to my "original skill level" because I'll probably never have another chance to put a whole lot of time into practicing those skills again, particularly since they're basically just supplemental.
