this meme is retarded, just because loomis meant a different thing by "highlight" than we do and understand nowadays doesn't make it wrong, following his basic advice for rendering will bring good results, all you need to do is add modern understanding of lighting and reflectivity but the core concepts are the same, and the results speak for themselves.
