"Applied master studies general" would be kinda confusing desu, I was thinking of just grouping all kinds of studies together into one thread, because half the posters here seem to want to copy photos, but they end up quiting the thread because of the name "msg"

I like master studies a lot, and I definitely think they're the main thing that teaches you technique, design, form, composition, etc. but I don't want to discriminate against drawing from life or photos, and I think they're valuable in different ways, and if you want to be a well rounded artist, you need to grow your visual library as much as possible, and sometimes there just isn't that density of information in other artist's works. I noticed this recently, in seeing David Finch's work, how he's an absolute expert in muscular superhero figures, but his female figures are very lacking, and I think that's because he's primarily copied superhero comics.

But mostly, I just want more people posting, with a great diversity of works. idk
