New to drawing, well this is my first time trying to draw "seriously". And by that I mean the first time I'm trying to use references, since the people I make come out as deformed noodle beings.

I don't have a drawing table or anything so I use SAI's line tool for my lineart.

Are there any tips I could use to improve this? Should I feel guilty about deforming, rotating, and re-purposing body references to give me the base of my people?
