I see, Anon the you did here is that you put on those details that emphasize the realism and those that contribute to age like the wrinkles beside the mouth.

This is why one must be careful when doing only linearts. Lines are there to symbolize "hard edges" meaning an area where two strongly different values cross. In real life people do not have lines around them of course but we use lines to substitute these. This could be the dark hair vs. the brown background, the dark hair vs. the light skin, the skin vs. the white cloth dark eyelashes vs. the skin etc. That is one things

But the second thing is that blackness can also be identifies as shadows, again obviously because shadows are dark/black ad that can mix things up.

Things become even harder when you are trying to put in details that soft edges like the difference between two lips or shading on the face, this is where the lineart get tough. Because these tiny detail must contrast the entire rest of the picture and if you pull a line beside the mouth that will appear to be just as for example strong mouth itself, giving of the impression that this is a deep and thick wrinkle when it is not. So the two options that you either just leave the fine details off completely or make other stronger details stronger, give them thicker lines or use crosshatching. Or else the subtle details will jump out and become to the forefront where they should not be and you get a different picture.

Not every detail is important, you must look at the full picture and only strengthen those details that matter most.
