you are unironically correct, but can you blame them? how can they convince others that their taped bananas and pollock dribbles are worth anything unless they first convince others that great old artists and their old works of art are worthless? who would want to pay for the new services if they found out the old teachings and old books were STILL the absolute best teachers, and for free?

why do people trash on loomis? He seems almost rockwell tier for me. Or is it because of his teaching methods? Or is it just an anti-loomis meme?

>What do you guys want out of your art?
I just want to be able to draw non-deviantart tier animu and somewhat realistic art for fun and maybe for videogame assets, I don't really want to become this super uber draftsman that can draw a panel like OP pic.
I started with Fun with a Pencil a few days ago and I'm hoping to get to a level where drawing the human form looks right and not a joke. I'm limiting my expectations a fair bit so I don't drop out of this (I just want to master Fun with a Pencil for now, nothing more and nothing less).

So what tools does loomis use?

Some soft B pencil? charcoal? And his paintings...are oil or something? Alot of other artists used the same medium....
