I'd say liberal artists (music or acting or painting) will be more successful, don't know about skilled though. I've talked with actors and musicians on other boards who've said that since all the companies and major clients, especially in acting, are very liberal, anyone who doesn't share the same views will inevitably get the cold shoulder from a lot of them.

You can see it on facebook a lot, a few months ago all the artists I followed were posting about Bernie being the saviour of the world, and complaining about their college debt, and the other artists would just keep quiet and not talk about politics at all.

Better to keep politics out of the workplace completely tbqh.
