There is something off-putting about Graffiti. I won't even talk about the law, it is what it is. Perhaps it is because the creator is trying to break the line that separates words and pictures. As demonstrated in McClouds picture plane triangle. Words/Letters are already assigned meaning. I don't understand what most graffiti artists are trying to accomplish. If you're in a gang and need to claim territory, that's one thing, but that isn't trying to accomplish aesthetics, it still represents something more than your OP. Perhaps you want to add an element of beauty to a soulless cityscape like Neckface. I could get behind that too. But if you're just trying to make letters prettier or uglier, like in your OP? You haven't sold me anon. Then the taggers complain and argue "it's still art tho!" I just want to tell you, it's about what is or isn't art, but that the execution of your art has completely failed. Why are graphic artists/letterers respected, and not graffiti artists?

Like everybody loves this guy. I do as well. What separates him from a graffiti tagger?

Here's a superior graph that actually makes sense because someone put thought into it.

I'm somewhere around ex. 20

it has something to do with the fact that precision and accuracy are more of a western thing while getting the idea/meaning/essence through rather than accuracy is more of a japanese thing.

See McCloud's explanation of his "big triangle" to understand what I mean:

Here's a way more useful ternary, for those who haven't seen it.

Hmm, I think I'm somewhere around ex. 23..

Please anon, read some Scott McCloud, it will take you out of your renaissance sensibilities and "muh realism" mentality.

Yeah, don't paint so much. You want something you can put out quickly and consistently, and from an aesthetic standpoint, that won't halt the flow of the story. Even if you can paint this well over and over again without tiring yourself out, the more realistic each image looks, the more serious the story has to be to fit, and the more slowly the reader is going to go from panel to panel because they'll be focusing on the art. The style you did on the right is closest, but keep simplifying, and read Understanding Comics.
