at what? that painting? I have a few ideas about why that one is a goof. For one thing, it was kind of always doomed to be a goof off painting. Like I was pretty enthused and almost even satisfied with the efforts I made yesterday on >>3704849 and >>3705093 , and instead of taking the self-destructive impulse that follows any sense of contentment and applying it to them or one of the other paintings that still have potential, I set out to work on one "wrong" on a fresh canvas to minimize the damage. A bunch of them are or started as blow-off goofs after I did something I was excited about. They're the afterbirth of better efforts.

Yeah and of course you're only capable of falling back onto the same meaningless autism. Like do you disqualify painters like Van Gogh and Rembrandt for using grids?

Like it's so clear that you have zero experience painting and no meaningful depth of knowledge when it comes to art history or theory or anything other than the most basic intro-to-drawing memes, and then at the same time you've got all these strong opinions that you choose to express through hostility. Why do you think you do this?

No as I said it the OP of this thread I'm here soliciting practical suggestions on what to do on the the paintings I'm working on. It isn't really my problem that this is so fucking confounding on /ic/.

Like I appreciate the irony that all I really want is for people to tell me what to do, and all I ever get is people telling me why I'm generally "wrong" and trying to "stop" me and reporting me for posting art in the art board. That's like my favorite meme about (you) d/ic/ks.

and the guy that wants to kill my cat and stuff post anonymously. They do and say whatever the fuck they want without ever worrying about the repercussions. Meanwhile, on the other side, when they're interacting with a known person or namefag, anything that person does is essentially logged into the shitposting lore forever. It's the same shit as twitter or anywhere anywhere else. There are faggot kids that will just flame and troll for attention, to the point where they're threatening to kill or harm artists that have the audacity of posting their work. There's a bit of a toxic faggot environment here that makes the place super not worth posting here if you have anything to lose or any semblance of self-respect.

The paintings aren't really about the subjects, they're about you. It's the peasant painting series.
