ok lets have a fundamentals thread. best way to approach them, exercises to get better at them etc. ill dump what i have.

It's like a gym, there is plenty of exercises, but none will improve your body as a whole. Create an objective and select the best exercises to achieve it.

I agree with these two. Drawing from life comes first and them stylization, which is what you are recreating (anime).

Start by learning perspective, shapes, line control, constructing the head, anatomy, etc. Here's an image I found by a fellow anon that I think is pretty good at describing the process.
