I only identify pop music a a genre of music that exists and is appreciated by someone somewhere (notice you in your post said the same thing, in so many words) but I learned to ACCEPT what I cannot change. Just like I'm accepting your closed-minded statement about what art -a completely subjective medium- means to an individual. I'm just saying, hateful people like you are not helping anything. You don't have to hate what you can't appreciate and you don't have to hate a person for their individual tastes in anything.
note: that's how prejudices, hate crimes, and every other conflict is created.

references: 2 little sisters and a mother that love pop music and have been playing it around me since I can remember. No, I don't think anything less of them for it - nor for them not appreciating the type of music I liked in the past.
