So I'm running into a dilemma, /ic/. I'm starting to do more digital still lives, and I'm having trouble shading on larger scales where the gradient is a huge portion of the piece. I'm working on this cup, and as you can see, there's a dark green gradient that I can't seem to blend easily with just a brush and changing opacity.

Any tips that doesn't involve in cheap photoshop tricks or the use of the gradient tool?
