>Also makes you realize other artists went and are going trough the same shit we are

usually listening to living artists makes me depressed by how bad and naive their lives are. there's practically nothing to relate to. their perspective always comes off somewhere between a year of forced art history for the credits and philosophy 101. you can find more inspiration listening to a bunch of scientists talk, as they seem to enjoy structure and beauty over being desperately clever or skillful.

the power of traditional art comes mainly from its history, that it was used from very early pagan worship, up through mass religion, and into modern art. the physicality of the traditional medium will remain forever. digital will forever be unstable due to its entangled nature with technology. it also brings attention to many unwanted existential concerns about creativity, ownership, ai, etc.

i imagine, as other scifi writers have, that as the technology evolves digital art will eventually have little resemblance to traditional art at all, and will become something closer to food art or drug use.

>Lean how to code instead of drawing.
coming from a software eng background, don't. grass is greener on the other side of the fence. Pajet has the industry solid. you have to be top of the cream to get worthwhile paying work and it's def going to be shit underneath your skill level by a fuckload with a metric fuckload of responsibility. you have just as much struggle as an artist but it's less demeaning and you don't have to work with morons.
