green boy is donatien who is a singer (specifically a castrato, won't give my 3 hour lecture on the subject here but you can google it if unfamiliar) personality-wise he's polite, humble, and a little naive
purple boy is shay who is as rich as he is evil. he can and will throw your entire life in the trash for his own entertainment. but he has a soft spot for donatien which blossoms into a perfectly unhealthy obsession, though donatien is unaware of how bad things really are with him
