a better example of an actual draughtsman would be Anders Zorn. A prime example of the hatching meaning only to create form, value and shape. Often theres alot of horseshit parading as fact when people try to call out "messiness" in hatching when it entirely depends on what the final image will be. colouring something like this would be horrific but as a pure drawing it works fine- where a full soloured piece would benefit from less inks to fuck up and bleed in something like what you posted
