To keep things short, I'd just say I take into consideration where the light sources are, (if any) where the darkest areas are, and what I want the focus to be on. I then deal with the lines from there, and try to make it look interesting. I don't really have a set order I do things in after the lineart and flat colors (no line weight)

Thank you! I honestly think I could be a lot more ambitious with this style, so if people are saying it looks good as it is now, I think it's headed in the right direction lol
