And lastly, which is also the last thing Ive learned to allow me more flow when drawing from imagination, distortion. Dont be afraid to distort your drawings for various reasons. But for this you also need good refs. For example Ive been struggling for years, literally, learning how to draw crazy perspectives like kjg. And while I still cant imitate his feats because Ive just started building up my visual memory so I dont have subjects to fill in my world, Ive atleast learned how to distort in a satisfactory manner for me. Just last weak I got a cheap lens kit (~10$) for my phone, and while I was messing around with the fisheye lens I also discovered my phone had panoramic view. Doing a panoramic view with fisheyes lens opened my eyes.

I always wanted to make my drawings like you are there, in the middle of it, like all the characters you draw are surrounding you, and interaction with the world, and being in correct perspective at the same time. Ive struggled doing that for years, and in 2 mins with one panoramic view with fisheye lens opened my eyes to the kind of distortion I can do to create that.

I wont post that because I dont want to post my room on 4chan, its 2400 so I am not going out, and my drawings are still at your level, but its cheap and its something you have to experience for yourself. Also thats not the single kind of distortion but I am telling you this because its show you have to actually see a distortion to understand it and be able to replicate. So keep your eyes peeled for this kind of experiences.

Now comes the hard part, you have all the tools you need to learn, now you have to actually put in the time and effort to learn.
