You're not actually following the forms with your lines. You have to learn to "see" the shapes as 3D objects and then use your lines to follow along the imaginary surface of those 3D objects. I'm far from the best at it but here's an example of what I mean. It might take a while to really get it but it's important that you do. It helps to start out by drawing around simpler objects with ellipses, tracing even the side you can't actually see. See the bottom example.
