Nah, "anime" styles actually have some diversity to them while still being recognizably "anime". It's like music genres, the definitions are pretty fuzzy and tend to be subjective.
>Anime is just slapping the same cute face on a semi-realistic body and duplicating it for every character, changing only hair and accessories.
Is a pretty dumb generalization, even though it's true for a lot of anime styles, particularly moe shit, there are plenty of shows and manga that don't, including some of the most popular ones like Bleach, Naruto, Fullmetal Alchemist, and MHA.
Also throwing Ryoko Kui's Dungeon Meshi in because I fucking love her art.
