There u are! I dont know how to explain it properly so i drew it for u. Im not a pro but i hope u can maybe get something out of it. Airbrush to make it more soft and skinlike; shadow is slightly warmer, highlight is slightly colder than base color. This is just a regular skintone but it can apply for Any color. For metal id look at something irl like a nut or spoon or something, it can be very smooth or have a brushed effect, i dont know how to explain it. But something basic is a darker color allover the base color, mostly soft edged and then a (colder) highlight, the highlight is sharp and thin.
