I'm a total beg and drew this from an old photo of me, and even though I feel really good, because I see improvement after years of telling myself I could never draw better, than children's scribbles, I see lots of mistakes like
>proportions are fucked, my head isn't that round
>it should actually be tilted, but looks straight
>the right eye is bigger than it should be
>looks pretty flat, shadows should have more contrast
>literally just gave up with the ear, seemed too complex to me
But all these I at least somewhat now how to improve and they'll get better with practice.
But what bugs me is I have absolutely no idea how to improve at convincingly drawing hair. Even after watching like 5 different youtube videos on drawing hair, I have absolutely no idea how to improve with them. I've even been trying to draw nothing but hair for several days just to try to understand what I do wrong, but I still have no idea. It just looks like a giant smear with some lines on top of it.
I feel like I should just focus on fundamentals, instead of hoping to pull the skill to draw photorealistic hair out of my ass and that's what I'm going to do.
