i agree with everything you said and the weed does cause it just not directly but indirectly

(this is true for any substance)
more time spent getting high = more isolation = less time with people and sober normal experiences = you fall off the curve on whats normal thats been beaten into you since grade school and its very hard to relearn what took you 18 years. turns out being a normie is harder than it looks. being a normie artist is ideal trust me, being a weirdo artist just makes you into a bohemian slob that is an "artist" in name only and doesn't actually make work. you don't have to be "REAL" or live the hard knock life or get ROUGH VIETNAM EXPERIENCES to make art. anyone who tells you otherwise is trying to sell you into the MFA pyramid scheme they themselves fell into.

its unfortunate but getting high with people does not solve the problem. drugs make you weird and being around other weird people on drugs just makes things worse because it normalizes/enables it for you.

you want to know how to get the best art out of drugs? it isn't from being an artist and taking drugs, we need our sobriety to fucking draw lines dipshit
no the best art comes when you give a normie drugs and draw them or ask them to describe what they see or feel and then you DRAW IT it makes the trip magical for them and you get to feel the warm fuzzies because they think youre amazing and honestly you feel amazing because art, can be morally rewarding.

in conclusion, no artist benefits from taking drugs. EVERY SINGLE LAST ALL artists will use "working on art" as an excuse to get high. sorry guis but we artists are addicts to "flow" by nature.
The best thing to do is to get other people high and draw for them. they arent going anywhere, (good life studies) they have your attention and a unique experience and they are delighted because you can help validate their ephemeral experiences with something real and tangible. which, isn't that what being an artist is all about?
