Hmm, well that bump you have marked there with the black line and the ??? marks looks to me like the sartorius, at least that's where it should fall since it inserts at the anterior superior illiac spine and follows that direction, it's very faintly marked so I could be wrong but not sure what else could be, there's also not much fat there so I dunno.
If that's still not what you are asking not sure but I don't get the relation between abducting the legs and the line you are asking for.
Try and draw and example or get a picture of the exact issue if that's the case.
